At the June meeting of the Lancaster County Council the Friends of the Buford Massacre Battlefield were approved for an award of $15,000. The monies are provided through the Accommodation Tax Grant that are administered by Lancaster County. The grant will be used to pay for additional brick paver walkways and informational kiosks at the Buford Battlefield.
When completed the walkways will provide handicap access to the grounds. The kiosks will enrich the story of the men who fought at the battle including the commanders, Colonel Abraham Buford and Lt Col. Banastre Tarleton, and the common soldiers who fought in the battle.
